Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) Marshfield High School Mock Trial is headed to state.
“I’m very proud of my students,” said Steven Okonek, Head Coach. “They performed better than I ever could have expected. We’re excited to compete in Madison in March.”
Two Marshfield teams which competed in the regional tournament at the Wood County Courthouse on Saturday placed second and fifth. The second-place team will advance to state.
Other teams competed from Lakeland and Reedsburg, with Kewaskum taking the place of Wisconsin Rapids.
In Mock Trial, teams are assigned a fictional case to role play. This year’s case involved a visually impaired teen who drowned in a country club pool. In preparing the case, students needed to argue if the country club was at fault in some way.
