For a brief period shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Marshfield was hit by a scattering of large hail.
The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement reporting strong thunderstorms affecting north central Wood County, northwestern Portage County, and southeastern Marathon County until 11:30 a.m. with a possibility for penny sized hail and strong winds. The thunderstorm was moving northeast.
