FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Marshfield Job Center Closes its Doors
Stevens Point, WI – The North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board (NCWWDB) has
closed the Marshfield Job Center effective March 25th due to the loss of funding from the City of
Marshfield and the end of its lease inside the Second Street Community Center. NCWWDB has
appreciated this longtime partnership.
Beginning April 1st, NCWWDB will partner with Mid-State Technical College at Mid-State on Central
(MSOC) to provide area residents with an alternative option for hands-on assistance for employment
and training needs. Gary Capen will assist individuals and businesses at the MSOC office at 1619
North Central Avenue in Marshfield, next to Festival Foods on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. He can also be reached by calling 715-321-1011.
Dr. Mandy Lang, Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management at Mid-State
Technical College, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “Mid-State Technical College is
committed to providing accessible resources to support our students and the broader community. The
collaboration between Mid-State and NCWWDB strengthens our ability to serve individuals seeking
employment and career advancement. Having another close connection at Mid-State on Central
ensures that job seekers and employers in the Marshfield area have a convenient place to receive
expert guidance and support.”
Individuals can continue to access job search assistance online with JobCenterofWisconsin.com (JCW),
Wisconsin’s free online job search tool. Staff is available to assist with questions or technical support
by calling (888) 258-9966 or emailing [email protected], Monday through
Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
