MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – A 59-year-old Marshfield man was sentenced to a minimum of three years in prison following a no contest plea to his 7th-offense OWI.
Gregory A. Schieber of Marshfield was pulled over on the morning of June 6 for an obstructed tail light. The officer observed the odor of alcohol coming from Schieber’s breath and ran him through a field sobriety test. After observing multiple clues during the test that indicated Schieber was intoxicated, his blood alcohol content was taken and the initial test came back 0.06. He was restricted to a 0.02 limit due to his previous six OWI infractions.
Police took him into custody and requested charges for a 7th OWI offense. From 1992 – 1999, Schieber was arrested five times for OWI incidences. His most recent offense before this incident was in 2014 according to the police report.
Schieber appeared in court on Monday and ultimately will serve three years in prison, four years of extended supervision and will be ordered to pay a $600 fine. Schieber will get credit for 114 days already served in jail while waiting for his sentencing hearing.
