MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Police Department responded to multiple incidents on March 10, 2025, leading to several arrests, including charges related to vehicle theft, operating while intoxicated (OWI), and drug possession.
Suspect Arrested for Vehicle Theft
Authorities responded to reports of a man unlawfully entering unoccupied vehicles near Pick ‘n Save on South Central Avenue. A witness observed the suspect and contacted law enforcement. Officers arrived at the scene and arrested the individual on an outstanding warrant. Additional charges are pending review by the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
Traffic Stop Leads to OWI and Drug Arrest
Later that evening, a routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old woman from Chippewa Falls. Officers pulled over a black 2010 Chevrolet Silverado for a non-functioning high-mounted brake light. During the stop, officers detected the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle.
Following a search, the driver was taken into custody for OWI (3rd offense) with a passenger under 16 years old, a felony offense. Authorities also charged the suspect with possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Wood County Jail, and the case has been referred to prosecutors for further action.
K9 Unit Discovers Controlled Substances in Separate Traffic Stop
In another incident, a traffic stop on South Central Avenue and 12th Street led to the discovery of a controlled substance. Officers stopped a 2003 Ford F-150 and conducted a vehicle search after K9 Rika alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A 67-year-old Tennessee man was found in possession of a significant quantity of Kratom pills. The suspect was arrested, booked, and later released after posting bond. The case remains under investigation.
