MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – On December 21, 2024, at approximately 3:05 PM, officers from the Marshfield Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Grant Street. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of intoxicants emanating from the vehicle’s driver, a 53-year-old Marshfield resident. Field sobriety tests were administered, which the driver failed.

Upon being informed of his arrest, the individual became resistant and threatened “suicide by cop.” Officers successfully decentralized the situation, taking the subject into custody without further incident. The charges include OWI 7th offense, resisting arrest, and misdemeanor bail jumping. The case has been referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
