“Jenny” to Join Department After 7-week Training
With K9 “H” scheduled to retire, Marshfield Police Department is in the process of acquiring a new furry addition to their force.
In a Facebook post on their page today, MPD announced Marshfield’s newest K9, Jenny. Officer Sam Fox was selected to be Jenny’s handler, and the two will train together at Vohne Liche Kennels in Indiana for 7 weeks prior to serving the Marshfield community.
“We are excited for our next K9 for the City of Marshfield,” said Chief Rick Gramza. “Our K9 program in collaboration with neighboring agency programs is so valuable to the communities we serve. Von Liche Kennels from Denver, Indiana continue to impress us with the quality of dog and training they provide police agencies. ‘Jenny’ is a dual purpose dog, trained in tracking and narcotics detection.”
