MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Recent Marshfield Police Department reports submitted to OnFocus:
February 15
Following a traffic stop, a 22-year-old Marshfield female was found to be in possession of a concealed weapon. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
February 16
Complainant reported a small dark colored SUV drove into her mailbox at the above address. She was unable to obtain a license plate, however the vehicle would have damage to the front passenger side headlight. A neighborhood canvas was completed. No suspects at this time.
Complainant called to report a 60 y/o male yelling at her and making lewd comments about her clothes. An investigation is ongoing and a supplemental narrative will be submitted after conducting an interview with the male, the building manager, and reviewing possible camera footage captured at the building.
February 17
Officers responded to the report of a 33 year-old Marshfield man asking the complainant to let him into her apartment building and stating that he had a warrant. Officers arrived on scene and identified the male; Ultimately the man was placed under arrest on a valid DOC Warrant. See report for further information.
Officer observed a 38 year-old male driving who officers knew to have a DOC warrant. Officer attempted to stop the vehicle and the male fled into a residence. The male ultimately surrendered to officers and was arrested for the warrant. The male also showed signs of impairment and refuse SFST’s. The male was then subsequently arrested for OWi. The male was transported to the Wood County Jail for a probation hold warrant and the new charge of resisting an officer.
February 18
Officers conducted a traffic stop for suspended WI plates on a vehicle, After further investigation, a 22 year old Rib Lake man was arrested regarding probation hold. He was transported to Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be forwarded to Wood County District Attorney’s Office for possession of the (vape) and felony bail jumping.
As a result of a traffic stop, contact was made with a 44-year-old Marshfield male who had a substantial amount of white residue located under his nostril. The white residue field tested positive for the presence of Methamphetamine. A request for charges for possession of methamphetamine and bail jumping is being forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
During a traffic stop of a vehicle, occupied by a 25 year old Marshfield female and a 27 year old Marshfield male, officers detected the odor of unburned marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of both parties and the vehicle was performed and a green plantlike substance suspected to be marijuana was found along with several items of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Both subjects were taken to the Marshfield Police Department where they were booked and released. Charges are being requested through the Wood County D.A.s office.
A 40-year-old Marshfield male concealed items at Hiller’s True Value and walked past the last point of sale without paying for them. Charges were requested on the male for retail theft and felony bail jumping through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
February 19
Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on South Central Avenue in the City of Marshfield. A traffic stop was attempted and the vehicle continued traveling to an address in the City of Marshfield. A high risk traffic stop was conducted and a 21 year old Marshfield male was arrested for first offense OWi and Resisting/Failing to Stop/Fleeing.
A man called 911 to report his vehicle was on fire. Marshfield Fire and Police responded to the scene. Caller reported to me that he believed he overheated his vehicle because it got stuck in snow and this is when it caught on fire. Marshfield Fire extinguished the fire.
February 23
An employee at Marshfield Health Services reported that a 54-year-old Stratford male made threats to other residents and staff members.
Probation and Parole was conducting a home visit on a 43-year-old Marshfield man and they noticed conditions that were inhumane for the dog that was living with the man. A probation hold was placed on the man and he was transported to Wood County Jail. Charges will be requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for the male’s lack of providing proper shelter to his dog.
February 27
Caller requested a welfare check on a 49-year-old Marshfield woman after she received some concerning text messages from the female. As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old Marshfield male was taken into custody for domestic related battery and a probation hold.
During a disturbance investigation, a 53 year old Marshfield man was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated. He was released to a responsible adult after a blood draw was completed. Additional charges for obstructing an officer and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
