July 22 – The complainant reported that the back window of a vehicle was broken. The complainant thought the incident had just occurred. Contact was attempted with the business with no success. A card was left by the door of the business asking for a call back.

Complainant reported a possible TRO violation. Officers read through messages, which all pertained to child custody and were not harassing in nature.

A woman contacted police after feeling fearful following two contacts she has had with a 50 year-old Pittsville male. In December of 2021, the male introduced himself to her and provided his phone number to her when he was parked by her in the employee section of the Walmart parking lot. The male did not work at Walmart and the woman told him she had a boyfriend. On 7-16-22 the male again parked next to her vehicle in the employee section and approached her. The male was spoken to via phone where he was told the woman wants no contact and he stated he would come to the police department to receive a Stalking Warning letter.

Officers responded to a report of a verbal and physical dispute. Officers investigated the incident and a 36 year-old Marshfield female was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct Domestic related, resisting arrest, and a probation hold. The female was transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges will be referred to the Wood County District Attorneys Office.

Officers received a report of a 27 year-old male violating his probation rules by drinking alcohol. Contact was made with the male who had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, the odor of intoxicants coming from his breath and multiple empty alcohol cans near his person. The male refused a Preliminary Breath Test. The male was placed on a probation hold and was transported to the Wood County Jail.

July 23 – Following a traffic stop, a search of a vehicle was conducted to a positive K9 alert and located inside was approximately 2.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine. A 40 year-old Medford male was arrested and transported to Marathon County Jail for possession of meth and a probation hold. Taylor County Juvenile Services was contacted for a 7 year-old female inside the vehicle. The juvenile was released to her mother. Charges are being requested through the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office.

Officers were dispatched for a female that was crying and stating her son hit the door and cracked it. Upon arrival it was learned that a 12 year-old Marshfield male became upset with his mother and began punching holes in the walls and a door. The 12 year-old left the residence prior to officers’ arrival and the mother did not want the 12 year-old male listed as a runaway. A juvenile referral was submitted through Wood County for the property damage and disorderly conduct.

While on patrol, a 45 year-old Marshfield male with active warrants was observed as a passenger in a vehicle. The vehicle stopped and the male passenger fled from the vehicle as the officer was about to initiate a traffic stop. Verbal commands were issued to the male to stop running. While the male was eluding officers, he pocket dialed law enforcement and officers were able to obtain his location and he was taken into custody. A request for charges for possession of Psilocin and resisting/obstructing Is being forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office

July 24 – A man reported his 71 year-old father in law was causing a disturbance, highly intoxicated and acting very erratic. Upon police contact, the 71 year-old male barricaded himself in the second story of the home and threatened to shoot law enforcement. A standoff ensued and the male continued to display very violent and erratic behavior. Ultimately, he surrendered and was taken into custody.

July 26 – A man contacted police after observing a small 2 yr-old child on the street. Contact was made after police followed the unattended child back to the door. After knocking on the door a 29 year-old Marshfield male eventually came to the door. The male had obviously been sleeping and acknowledged to the fact. The male stated he was sleeping for 45 minutes. The male did not seem receptive with concerns. Charges for Child Neglect will be requested through the Wood Co DA’s Office.

July 27 – A man contacted police and reported someone created a Door Dash account using his daughter’s debit card, email and address. Items have been being ordered and delivered from Burger King, Little Caesars, and Dunkin to their address but are reportedly gone prior to their arrival home. Their neighbor is also associated w/ the account but not believed to be involved. Complainants believe either a different neighbor or a co-worker at Festival Foods. Door Dash, at this time, have not been able to provide info assisting in locating who created the account and is taking the items. They will be cancelling the debit card. It was reported approximately $100 has been lost at this time.

The Marshfield Police Department responded to a 12-year-old autistic juvenile that ran away from the care of her family. The juvenile was enrolled in Project Life Saver and with the assistance of the Marshfield Fire and Rescue, Wood County Sheriffs Department, Hewitt Fire Department, Pittsville Fire Department and Richfield Fire Department the child was located approximately an hour later.

A man contacted police and reported being scammed out of money after receiving and responding to an email he believed to be from Norton Life Lock.

July 28 – A man reported someone stole his bicycle that was leaning next to his residence. He stated he parked the bicycle next to the house the prior evening and noticed it was missing the next morning. No known suspects. Man was found to have a valid Department of Corrections warrant and was taken into custody. Man was transported to Clark County Jail.

A woman reported observing an open door and graffiti. The building was searched and graffiti was located on the interior walls and roof. The paint used appeared to be yellow spray paint. Dispensed fireworks were also located within the building. The building appeared to be in the process of being renovated. Contact was made with the owner and he advised he would secure the building. The owner also requested extra patrol for the building. No known suspects at this time.

July 29 – A traffic stop was conducted on N Peach. The driver, a 20 y/o Marshfield man admitted to using Marijuana and possessing it within the vehicle. The 20 y/o was arrested then brought to Marshfield PD for booking procedures. The 20 y/o was later released.

July 31 – A couple reported that their son, a 43 year-old Marshfield man, was intoxicated and in violation of his bond conditions. Officer verified that the man did have an open case, Wood County Case 2022CT000282, with a condition of Absolute Sobriety. The man did provided a breath sample and PBT result was 0.333. Complainants were advised officers would be requesting charges on their son for bail jumping and would be forwarding to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office. Probation agent was also notified of the violation. The man was left in the care of his parents.

A woman reported an Amazon Package that was delivered was stolen. Officer checked the common area where mail is delivered and there was no video surveillance. She had no suspects regarding the theft. She will report the theft to Amazon and she gave no person(s) permission to take the package. She also wanted police to check the basement of the apartment building for squatters. The basement was cleared and no squatters were located. There was no evidence of squatters found.

August 2 – Victim reported a physical domestic abuse incident. The 37 year-old Wisconsin Rapids male suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival. The male still needs to be questioned and arrested for Domestic Battery and Disorderly conduct. RFC will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

A traffic stop was conducted on E Ives. K-9 ZSO ZSO and Officer Ament responded to the scene and K-9 ZSO ZSO alerted to the odor of a controlled substance from within the vehicle. As a result, a 41-year-old Marshfield female was placed under arrest for OWi 5th offense, possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. A request for charges is being forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
