Marshfield Police Reports – July 7 – 19, 2022

July 8

A woman called to report she had told a male subject to leave the motel property but he came back and started trying to get into a room. While doing so, the male broke a screen window. A 45 year-old Neillsville man was subsequently arrested for an active arrest warrant through Clark County.

Officers were dispatched to Walmart for a report of retail theft. Officers made contact with Asset Protection who had camera footage of the suspect as well as previous incidents. Investigation to follow.

A woman reported that her brother whom she has a temporary restraining order against drove past her and “flipped her off’ while she was stopped at a stop sign. Contact was made with the suspect who admitted to his involvement. It was determined that no restraining order violation had occurred. Suspect was warned for disorderly conduct.

July 9

A man reported that a 25 y/o Marshfield male that he was in the process of evicting was sending him numerous text messages that were in annoyance and hostile in nature. He was encouraged to block the male and also apply for a TRO while he applies for the formal eviction paperwork.

July 12

Officers were dispatched to Walmart after Loss Prevention reported observing a female leave the store without paying for multiple items. LP advised that the female got into a vehicle with a male and the two fled the area. Offices were able to locate the vehicle a short time later, but only the male was in the vehicle. The man allowed officers to search a bag in the vehicle and methamphetamine was located. Officers searched the rest of the vehicle and located additional methamphetamine. The man was arrest and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through Wood County and Marathon  County on both subjects.

July 13

A man reported an unknown person is scratching the hood of his vehicle during the evening hours. He stated the scratches began approximately one week ago and each day he sees more scratches. He stated he was unaware of who may be causing the damage. He stated he has a camera for the vehicle and will attempt to identify the suspect. No surveillance cameras were observed in the area.

Officers were conducting a follow up for a retail theft incident. Officers learned that the suspect had an active warrant and was inside of the apartment. The suspect obstructed and would not leave the building.

Complainant reported a suspicious subject outside of their residence, who appeared to be intoxicated. Contact was made with the suspect, a 70-year-old Marshfield male and he was warned for his behavior.

During a traffic stop on South Peach, an open container of alcohol was located in the vehicle. Field sobriety tests were conducted and the operator of the vehicle was arrested for OWi 1st offense. During a search of the vehicle, two empty alcohol bottles were located as well as two bags containing a green plant material which later tested positive for the presence of THC.

Officers were dispatched to a report of stalking. Suspect is a 79 year-old Spencer female. Attempts will be made to contact her.

July 18

A welfare check was requested on a 27-year-old Marshfield male, who was passed out in his vehicle. The complainant was unsure if the male was breathing. Officers contacted the male and he was assessed by Marshfield EMS. Probation and Parole was contacted a hold was placed on the male. Charges for 2 counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping will be requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

July 19

Two individuals were observed coming from a known drug house. A brief foot pursuit started when these individuals saw the marked squad car. Officers detained a 19 year-old male and 50 year-old male both from Marshfield. Officers searched the area but did not locate any evidence. Both men were later released.
