Marshfield Police Reports – November 25 to December 11

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Reports submitted by Marshfield Police Department:

November 25

During a traffic stop, K-9 Rika indicated to a controlled substance in a vehicle. Following a search a female was found to be in possession of multiple prescriptions that were not prescribed to her. One pill bottle also contained THC residue. The female was transported to jail on a probation hold. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s office for their review.

A man reported that an unknown individual called him requesting $1000+ in various department store gift cards to fix his computer. He allowed the individual remote access to his computer, which an officer later turned off. He did give (2) $500 Target gift card barcode information to the caller. He was encouraged to take his computer to a specialist to make sure important information wasn’t retrieved or a virus put on it.

During a traffic stop, a 28 year-old Schofield man was placed under arrest for operating under the influence following field sobriety testing. He was transported to the Marathon County Jail on a probation hold.

A woman reported that her mailbox was struck by a vehicle. She did not see the incident happen and has no suspects or vehicle description. Pictures were taken of the mailbox. The damage appeared to be accidental and no other damage was done to her other property or nearby property. She wished only to have the incident documented.

November 26

An employee with the Lumberyard Bar and Grill reported a physical altercation which had occurred. Contact was made with the parties involved. Charges will be requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

November 30

WalMart loss prevention reported a retail theft. Contact was made with a 55 year-old Marshfield female who was observed ticket switching items at the checkout.

December 2

A woman walking across the intersection of W Kalsched Avenue and N St. Joseph Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle. She was unharmed and her employer (Marshfield Medical Center) wanted this documented. She stated she believed the reason for this was because of the poor lighting. She advised the vehicle was a silver SUV but could not recall anything else. The striking party checked her welfare and she advised him she was okay.

December 5

Complainant called to report a fight taking place at 501 Sports Bar. As a result of the investigation a 29 year-old Green Bay male was arrested for Substantial Battery/Domestic and a 30 year-old Green Bay male was arrested for D.C. and a Probation Warrant. Both males were transported to WOSO jail. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County District Attorney’s on both males for the previously listed offenses.

December 9

A man reported to dispatch that a suspicious package was delivered to his house. Officers met with him at MDPD lobby where he informed that he had opened the package and found 6 packages of “Magic Kingdom” mushroom infused chocolate. He stated he did not order this and wanted to give it to us. Officer advised him if he receives any more suspicious packages to contact the Police Department. The 6 boxes were logged into evidence.

A woman reported her shed had been stolen from her property. Officers arrived on scene and she stated that her friend saw a male loading the shed onto his trailer. It was later determined that the shed was taken from a previous owner of the property. The complainant’s husband advised he wanted no further law enforcement assistance and deemed it to be a civil issue.

A woman reported that she believed someone tried to enter her home through her window. Officers arrived on scene and she stated a window on her trailer was opened last night approximately one inch. She stated she knows she did not leave the window open and someone had to have opened it from the outside last night. She was advised to lock her windows, and Officers would be checking with her neighbor for possible surveillance.

Following a traffic stop, a 33 year-old Marshfield male was taken into custody for OWi 1st. The male continually resisted officers. The male was transported to jail after he was medically cleared at MMC. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for Resisting, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, Battery to Law Enforcement, and Discharging Bodily Fluids at Public Safety Workers.

Officers received a call from a woman about some concerning facebook posts that were sent to her. Upon reading the posts it was determined that a business was being targeted for vandalism. The posts also threatened a 54 year-old Marshfield male. It is believed that the facebook profile that made the threats belongs to a 34 year-old Marshfield male. The business was contacted and made aware of the threats. The victim does not want to press charges at this time.

A woman arrived to the Police Department lobby with a 20 year-old male with special needs. She advised she is a bus driver and that she attempted to drop the male off to caretakers at two listed addresses and was unable to contact them. Officers assisted in contacting the mother of the male who responded to the Police Department. Ultimately, the male was turned over to his mother and it was agreed that a schedule would be sent to the bus driver to prevent future issues.

December 10

Fleet Farm LP called stating a 40 year-old Mosinee male was inside the store and had several active warrants. Officers made contact with the male and he was taken into custody on the active warrants and possession of methamphetamine. He was transported to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA.

Officers were dispatched to a complaint of an ex-spouse coming to his ex-wife’s work. Upon officer arrival, the ex-husband was no longer at the location. After further investigation it was determined that the ex-husband was not at the complainant’s work.

Officers responded to a report of a loud verbal altercation occurring at the 700 block of South Central Ave. Contact was made with the parties involved. A 29 year-old man was placed under arrest and transported to the Wood County Jail.

December 11

Officers were dispatched to a report of a physical disturbance with an intoxicated male. Following an investigation a 50 year-old Marshfield male was taken into custody for Domestic Battery, Disorderly Conduct, and Mistreat Animal. The male was ultimately transported to the Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

Portage County called asking if officers could assist in a legal blood draw. Blood was obtained from a 23 year-old Wisconsin Rapids female. Blood kit was sent via mail.

Officers were dispatched to an active disturbance of a male and female arguing. Officers arrived on-scene, and made contact with the complainant who stated he and his 28 year-old girlfriend had gotten into a verbal argument. Officers made contact with the 28 year-old Marshfield female who confirmed the man’s statement. The female was verbally aggressive towards officers and the parties were advised to separate for the day.
