Marshfield Public Library to Host “Spoken History: 9/11 Memories with Marshfield Fire Department”
MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Public Library is scheduled to host a special event, “Spoken History: 9/11 Memories with Marshfield Fire Department,” on Wednesday, September 11, at 6:30 PM in the Felker Room. This event will feature Deputy Chief Jonathan Altman from the Marshfield Fire Department, who will share insights into the heroic response of fire departments to the 9/11 tragedy.
In addition to discussing the actions of first responders on that fateful day, Deputy Chief Altman will provide a historical perspective on the World Trade Center beam that is now part of the 9/11 Memorial at the Marshfield Fire Department. This artifact serves as a solemn reminder of the events of September 11, 2001, and honors the bravery and sacrifice of all those who responded.
The event will also serve as a platform for community members to share their own memories and experiences from September 11. Attendees are encouraged to participate and reflect on the impact that day had on their lives and our nation.
This event is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. For more information, please visit the Marshfield Public Library’s Facebook page or contact them at 715-387-8494.
