MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The City of Marshfield will be performing asphalt rejuvenating maintenance on select City streets. The contractor (CAM, LLC) is scheduled to begin work July 10th. The treatment is weather dependent, so if the forecast calls for rain, operations will be delayed.

As a result, there is to be no on-street parking from Monday, July 10th – Thursday, July 13th between the hours of 7:00 am until 7:00 pm.

Residents with a lawn sprinkling system that sprays or drains onto the street pavement should turn it off for the day in which work will be performed on the street and one day following the treatment. Residents are also asked to please refrain from discharging sump pump onto the street during this time.

As part of this project, CAM, LLC will be applying Reclamite, a Maltene-based rejuvenating agent, to the designated roads. Reclamite has been a trusted product in the market for over 50 years, successfully extending the life of pavement by effectively sealing it from the detrimental effects of external elements. By employing this penetrating sealer, CAM, LLC aims to minimize the need for costly and disruptive street repair methods in the future.

Following the application of Reclamite, lime screenings will be spread on the road surfaces. It is important for residents to note that the road will be fully accessible to traffic during this phase. However, for safety purposes, motorists are advised to exercise caution, drive at reduced speeds, and remain within the areas treated with sand and screenings. It is crucial to avoid driving onto driveways before the contractor has completed applying the limestone/sand, as it may result in the tracking of some product onto driveways and sidewalks. Please be assured that any markings caused by the transfer of the product are not permanent and will naturally fade within a few weeks.

CAM, LLC reassures the community that the products used in this process are environmentally safe and have been specifically designed to extend the life of the pavement. While the likelihood of material transfer from the roadway to vehicles is low when driving cautiously on recently treated roadways, if any product does transfer onto vehicles, it is non-corrosive and will not cause damage. In the event of any material on vehicles, a bug and tar remover, readily available at local auto parts stores, can safely remove it.

For further inquiries or additional information, residents and community members can contact CAM, LLC at 630-465-4142.
