Marshfield School Board Election Results: Four Candidates Advance to April Ballot

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The 2025 Spring Primary Election for the Marshfield School Board was held on February 18, narrowing the field of candidates from five to four. Two open seats are up for election, with the remaining candidates set to face off in the April 1 general election.

The unofficial (until certified) results of the primary election are as follows:

Marshfield School District School Board Member (Wood, Marathon, Clark Counties)

  • Dan Griesbach – 1,239 votes (28.9%)
  • Dominic Pernsteiner – 1,008 votes (23.5%)
  • Cathy J. Gorst (i) – 1,005 votes (23.4%)
  • Coleman Grosbier – 830 votes (19.3%)
  • Charles Norton – 210 votes (4.9%)

With these results, Dan Griesbach, Dominic Pernsteiner, Cathy J. Gorst, and Coleman Grosbier will advance to the April 1 general election, where voters will determine which two candidates will secure a seat on the Marshfield School Board.

Statewide Election Results

In addition to the local race, the Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction primary election also took place. With 71 of 72 counties reporting, the following results were recorded:

  • Jill Underly (i) – 177,205 votes (advances)
  • Brittany Kinser – 161,385 votes (advances)
  • Jeff Wright – 128,336 votes

Underly and Kinser will now compete in the April 1 general election for the position of Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Voters are encouraged to participate in the upcoming general election on April 1, which will determine the final selections for both the Marshfield School Board and statewide offices.
