(OnFocus) The Marshfield High School will increase security and present a program on school safety after a second threat on a bathroom stall was discovered last Tuesday.
This threat was a separate incident from the bomb threats written on bathroom stalls last Monday that led to the arrest of two 17-year-old female students.
In a statement last week, the district stated it was aware of the threat, believed to be written on a boy’s bathroom stall Tuesday afternoon and an “inappropriate copycat message” of the bomb threat messages. A photo of the second threat had circulated on Snapchat.
The school administration and Marshfield Police Department continue to investigate the second threat, which referenced the date December 19.
“Currently, there is no evidence suggesting an actual school threat exists (bomb, shooting, etc.) As a precautionary measure, increased law enforcement will be present at Marshfield High School on Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday, December 19.”
High school staff will also present a program on school safety on December 17 which will review the school’s response to threats, legal consequences to making a threat, and options for students who need further support.
The district stated it would continue providing information as it became available and could be released.
