Marshfield Senior Legion baseball falls at home to Waupaca

MARSHFIELD – Waupaca used a pair of big innings to blow past Marshfield Post 54 13-2 in an American Legion baseball game Thursday night at Jack Hackman Field.

Waupaca scored four times in the second inning and finished off the win with a seven-run fourth, taking the non-league game in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Kadin Wanty went 3-for-4, Adam Kennedy had two hits and drove in three runs, and Jack Menzies, Davis Levine and Justin Vaughn each had two hits and two RBIs in the win for Waupaca.

Marshfield (0-4) was held to five hits, two coming from Preston Wagner.

Logan Schreiner took the loss for Marshfield, giving up 11 hits and 10 runs, five earned, in three-plus innings of work.

Marshfield will play a doubleheader at Chippewa Falls on Saturday. Its next home game is Tuesday against Wausau.
