Marshfield Senior Legion shuts out Green Bay Shockers at Eau Claire Tournament

EAU CLAIRE – Marshfield used a nine-run fourth inning to bust open a tight game and beat the Green Bay Shockers 13-0 in its opening game at the Eau Claire Legion Tournament on Friday at Carson Park.

Marshfield scored twice in the second inning and blew it open with a nine-run fourth. The Blue Devils added two runs in the fifth, and finished off the game via the 10-run rule.

Cole Hediger pitched 4 2/3 innings and Isaiah Baierl got the final out to secure the three-hit shutout for Marshfield (9-11).

Hediger struck out seven and walked just one to pick up the win.

Jacob Earll had two hits and three RBIs, and Tragen Bogdonovich added a single and two RBIs to lead the Blue Devils’ offense.

Eli Drexler also had two hits, and Chandler Schmidt and Riley Boushack each scored twice for Marshfield.

Marshfield will play Winona La Jetz (Minn.) at 3 p.m. and Eau Claire at 8 p.m. Saturday before concluding play at the tournament at 1:30 p.m. Sunday against Altoona.
