ESCANABA, Mich. – The Marshfield softball team dropped a pair of games at the Escanaba Invitational on Saturday, finishing the two-day tournament with a 1-2 record.
Marshfield lost to host Escanaba (Mich.) 9-5 and Millington (Mich.) 10-0.
In the opener, Marshfield scored three times in the top of the fourth to tie the game with Escanaba at 4-4, but the Eskymos responded with a four-run sixth inning to forge ahead.
Brianna Jakobi had a double, a home run and three RBIs for Marshfield.
Marshfield was held to just one hit – a single by Madalen Bornbach – in the loss to Millington.
Marshfield (10-7) will play a Wisconsin Valley Conference doubleheader at Wausau East on Monday.
