MARSHFIELD – For the first time in nearly three weeks the Marshfield softball team was able to get on the field, and the Tigers’ bats were raring to go.

The Tigers had 26 hits and scored 31 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Eau Claire North, winning 17-7 and 14-6, to improve to 5-2 this season.

Jenna Jakobi went 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run, and three RBIs in the first game, and added a single and another homer in Game 2 to lead the way for Marshfield.

Brianna Jakobi was 4-for-4 and scored four times, and Loryn Jakobi and Madalen Bornbach each had two RBIs in the Game 1 win for Marshfield, which ended via the 10-run rule after a three-run sixth inning.

Maddie Mews and Taylor Barwick each drove in a pair in Game 2 for the Tigers.

Courtney Donahue was the winning pitcher in both games, striking out six in each game.

Marshfield will play a make-up game at D.C. Everest on Wednesday, before hosting Stevens Point on Thursday and Holmen on Saturday.
