Marshfield – Effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020 Marshfield Utilities’ (MU) office will be closed to the public for the foreseeable future.

The decision to close the office has been made in an effort to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the ability to continue to provide the safe and reliable service our customers count on.

The office closure will require some customers to change their payment process. MU offers a variety of options for payment including mail, online, over the phone, or a drop box in the parking lot.

Customers needing assistance with navigating these options can speak to an MU representative by calling 715-387-1195.

The MU website www.marshfieldutilities.org also contains more specific information related to payments and service changes such as starting or stopping service. Customers without computer access needing a form can call the MU office and request one be mailed. For after-hours emergencies contact 715-384-8515.

MU will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and adjust processes accordingly. At this time, there is not an estimation as to when the MU offices will open to the public.

“Because of the speed at which the COVID-19 situation is changing it is hard to specify future steps, but the community should rest assured that the MU team is being proactive in their approach”, says General Manager Nicolas Kumm. “We will continue to take the steps necessary to ensure electric and water service continue safely and reliably to our customers.”
