Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) Residents can learn more about how their electricity is produced through a new interactive display by Marshfield Utilities now available inside the Wildwood Zoo Welcome Center.

By turning dials and pressing buttons, visitors can see a demonstration of how natural gas is extracted, what happens when a tree falls into power lines, and how solar arrays and wind turbines harness energy.

The project was spearheaded by Marshfield Utilities. “The display is put together to help educate the community on how electricity is generated today and how it’s going to be generated in the future,” said General Manager Nicolas Kumm.
