MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Marshfield Utilities is in the midst of getting a new building for the first time since 1967. Construction on the building began in June of 2021 with it expecting to be completed by the end of 2022.
A time-lapse of the construction shows the progress crews have made so far:
MU answered outstanding questions about the project and the impact it might have on its customer’s rates on their website. The company said it expects rates to rise $4/month beginning in 2023 to help pay for the $17.5 million project.
According to MU, the new building was essential to keep up with increasing demand and would cost less than making the necessary improvements to the old building.
