MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team won two of five matches to place fourth at the six-team Marshfield Tigers Round Robin on Saturday at Marshfield High School.

Ashwaubenon won the team title with a 5-0 record, with Superior second at 4-1 and Abbotsford third at 3-2. Prescott was fifth at 1-4 and Rhinelander finished 0-5.

Karly Nikolai had 35 kills to lead the Tigers offensively. Lindsey Steffen added 23 kills and 48 digs, Kaydee Johnson had 57 digs, Taylor Barwick had 82 assists, and Madison Nelles had five blocks for Marshfield.

“We struggled more than I would like to have seen today after the progress I thought we were making,” Marshfield coach Dawn Sadowska said. “Unfortunately, we had 89 errors, 30 missed serves and 59 hitting errors, both things we have really been working on in practice. We just have to get back in the gym next week and work harder on cleaning up our game.”

Marshfield hosts Stratford in a nonconference match Thursday.
