Coach’s Comments:

We started off the tournament really well versus Ashwaubenon hitting at a very high %.  We were firing on all cylinders in that match.  Then we started versus Appleton East well, but lost some momentum making too many errors and not finishing like I would hoped we could.  The Kewaskum match was a very exciting match.  They are a really well coached team and have some nice players.  We physically were taller than they were and our middle hitters really had an advantage attacking.  Kewaskum passed very well and ran a quick offense that, at times, our players struggled reading them.  I was really happy we fought back in game 3 and were able to put it away.  Bay Port in the championship has a really solid team.  There are not many teams we have played this year that are taller than us and they could hit from all 3 positions effectively.  There block was also very big and something we haven’t seen yet this season.  We played hard and made some nice runs to keep it close, but to Bay Port’s credit they were able to close each game on us.  I was overall happy with our performance, but there are some things we definitely can watch on film and hopefully get better at before the end of the season.
