OnFocus – A 22-year old Marshfield woman was arrested Friday for operating while intoxicated, according to a Wisconsin State Patrol release. There was a passenger under 16 years of age in the vehicle, which was stopped for excessive speed. The incident took place along I-39 near Plover (Portage County) just after 8:00 p.m.
After stopping the driver for 85-mph (in a 70-mph zone), the trooper observed signs of driver impairment with a child passenger in the vehicle. Upon further investigation, including standardized field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested.
An evidentiary blood draw was completed and the driver was booked into the Portage County jail. Charges include OWI with a passenger under 16 years of age and speeding in excess of the posted limit.
