Marshfield wrestling opens season with win at Sparta

SPARTA – The Marshfield wrestling team opened up its 2018-19 season with a 52-15 victory in a dual match at Sparta on Thursday.

Marshfield won five matches by pin and two others by forfeit as it won its first match under new coach Cody See.

Sirius Conrad needed just eight seconds to win his 106-pound match and Shane Westerhausen took just 13 seconds to earn a pin at 120 for the Tigers.

Caden Perace (152 pounds), Nolan Hertel (160), and Sam Mitchell (220) also won by pin for Marshfield.

Ryan Dolezal added a major decision win at 132, and Caden Dennee (138) and Tanner Kanable (145) both earned victories for the Tigers.

Marshfield will compete at the Stoughton Invitational on Saturday.
