Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) The Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA celebrated its newly constructed and renovated facility with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday afternoon. The $10.4 million project first broke ground in August 2017.
The first phase, the Everett & Dolores Roehl Youth Center, was completed in September 2018 and houses the Youth Center and Marshfield School District Alternative School.
“World class. When I walked through the doors today, that’s the first thing I thought about,” said David Voss, Jr., President & CEO, Miron Construction. “There are cities 10 times your size that can only dream about what’s behind us.”
Phase 2 concluded with an opening March 11 this year. The new facility includes a Healthy Living Center with 24/7 access, Strength Training Center, Fieldhouse, Multi-Generational Community Room, Welcome Center, and Member Lounge.
Existing areas were also renovated, including group exercise rooms, the Child Watch area and Youth & Family Lounge.
“This is all about people. We’re looking at that building today, but it’s about the people — the people in this community, the people that serve in that building, and the people that made it happen,” said Dave Meissner, Chief Volunteer Officer and Capital Campaign Co-Chair.
