Marshfield (OnFocus) – Since 2016, Marshfield Clinic Health System’s Oncology/Hematology Unit has been raising funds for cancer-related causes.

“It initially started with just 8N staff, but over the past two years we have had more MCHS staff members and patients inquire about purchasing t-shirts,” said Alesha Lobner, BSN RN Supervisor 8N Oncology/Hematology Unit. “We thought it would be fun to create shirts for our unit and raise money to support our Cancer patients at the same time. Each year we have been raising more and more to give to them.”

Last year, the group led by RN Denise Horn raised $601.16

“Our patients need help throughout the year,” added Lobner. “This year our proceeds will go directly to our patients for lodging and other essential items.”

Shirts can be purchased online or ordered on 8N. Lobner chose local print shop Premier Printing as an additional way to support local.

“We would like to be able to give as much as we can to our patients. Not only is Premier Printing less expensive than other options, we are able to give back to our community by supporting this local business,” she said.
