Marshfield Fire & Rescue, Police Responded to Fire
OnFocus – Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department (and Marshfield Police Department) responded to a structure fire at 1101 W McMillan St on February 4 at 4:32pm.
Officer Christopher Hasz of the Marshfield Police Department was first on the scene and used a fire extinguisher to repress the 1.5 ft flames coming from an electrical box, keeping the fire under control until the fire department arrived.
The fire department was dispatched for smoke coming from the wall of an attached garage. Upon arrival, smoke was found coming from the attached garage. Fire crews made entry and had to open up a wall to put out the fire. Damage was limited to the exterior garage wall. No one was displaced from a result of the fire and there were no injuries.
The origin of the fire was in the garage on the south wall at an electrical outlet. The cause was an electrical failure. Fire damage was limited to an isolated area of the attached garage exterior wall. A preliminary estimated damage total is $2,000. Poor weather and road conditions slowed the response.
