Tanner Hraby’s 5th inning 3RBI Triple was the difference as the Medford Raiders beat rival Mosinee 4-1 in their lone official conference meeting of the year.

Due to some significant cancellations, the GNC voted to only play one round of conference play this year.

The game was a pitching duel through to the fifth when Medford loaded the bases off Garrett Shupe. Mosinee went to the pen and Tanner Hraby laced a bases-clearing triple off reliever Keagan Jirshele. Logan Baumgartner would then knock in Hraby to give Medford a 4-0 lead.

Mosinee would get one back on an unearned run in the bottom of the 5th, but Medford would shut them down the rest of the way.

Baumgartner went 6.2 to get the win, allowing just 5 hits, the 1 unearned run, 2 walks, and striking out 9. Ty Metz would come in and get the final out and the save.

Garrett Shupe would go 4.2 giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Keagan Jirshele went the final 2.1 giving up the 1 earned run, on 2 hits, one walk, and 1 strikeout.

Medford goes to 2-1 on the year 1-0 in the GNC, and Mosinee drops to 1-1 on the year 0-1 in the GNC. Mosinee is scheduled to play in Medford on Thursday in what will be a non-conference matchup. You can watch that game weather and field conditions permitting at onfocus.news/sports-live-streaming.
