Medford Baseball got new coach Chandler Schmidt his first win and first GNC win in a 9-7 win over Mosinee.
Medford would get on the board first in the top of the first. After a Will Wojcik walk and steal of second, Parker Lissner would single to left, driving in Wojicik.
Mosinee would respond in the bottom of the inning on a Carter Fandry RBI single, scoring Elliot Yirkovsky and making it 1-1.
Medford would get back on the board in the top of the 2nd, and Evan Wilkins would get an RBI single, scoring Evan Czarnezki. Then, after a couple of walks loaded the bases, Lissner would get a 2 RBI single, making it 4-1.
Mosinee would tie it up in the bottom of the 3rd, after Yirkovsky scored on a past ball, Sebastian Anderson got a 2 RBI single tying the game at 4.
Medford would get the lead back in the top of the 5th on a Czarnezki RBI ground out, making it 5-4.
Medford would add to their lead in the 6th, Sam Hierlmeier scored on a steal of home, then Lissner got another RBI on an infield single. After a Lissner steal of 2nd, Hayden Strebig would single to left, driving in Lissner and giving Medford an 8-4 lead.
Mosinee would respond in the bottom of the inning, Yirkovsky would driving in 2 on a single to center, then Brady Lokken would get an RBI groundout, cutting the Medford lead to 8-7.
Medford would get an insurance run in the top of the 7th on a Hierlmeier single to center, scoring Ryder Kraschnewski.
Mosinee would get a baserunner in the bottom of the 7th, but a great play by Ryder Krashnewski ended the game.
Medford was led at the plate by Parker Lissner, going 3-5 at the plate with 4 RBI. Hayden Striebig got the star, going 5 innings, giving up 6 runs, 4 earned, on 9 hits, 3 walks, striking out 8. Charlie Gierl would get the save going the final 2 innings, giving up 1 run, it was earned, on 3 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout.
Mosinee was led at the plate by Elliot Yirkovsky, who went 4-4 with 2 RBI. E Oatman got the start; he went 1.1 innings, giving up 4 runs, 4 earned, on 3 hits, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Z Nechuta pitched the next 5.1, giving up 5 runs, 4 earned, on 6 hits, 3 walks, and 8 strikeouts. K Kolodziej pitched the final third of an inning, giving up nothing.
