Medford Baseball Sweeps Season Series with Lakeland

The Medford Raiders swept the season series against Lakeland with 6-1 and 9-5 wins this week.

In game one on Wednesday, Medford was led at the plate by Parker Lissner who went 1-4 with a double, a run scored, and 3 RBI. Braxton Weissmiller went 3-4 with an RBI. Nick Steliga and Max Dietzman also added RBI.

Tanner Hraby got the start and the win, going 6 innings, giving up just 1 earned run on 3 hits, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Charlie Gierl would pitch a perfect 7th inning with a strikeout.

In game two on Thursday, Medford would be led by Braxton Weismiller who went 4-4 with 2 doubles, and 3 RBI. Parker Lissner would go 2-4 with 3 RBI. Nick Steliga would add 2 RBI, and Jack Wojcik would add 1 RBI.

Nick Steliga would get the start and the win, going 6 innings, giving up 3 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Charlie Gierl would pitch the 7th, giving up two earned runs on 2 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts.

Medford moves to 15-2, 8-2 in the GNC. They wrap up GNC play with a doubleheader in Eagle River against Northland Pines on Saturday.
