Medford Girls, Merrill’s Schmidt Take Division 2 Cross Country Sectional Titles

Colby (OnFocus) – The Medford Girls and Merrill’s Liz Schmidt won WIAA Division 2 Cross Country Sectional titles at Colby on Saturday.

Medford won with 47 points, ahead of second place West Salem with 75 points.

Schmidt won the sectional title with a time of 19:33, and Meredith Richter of Medford took second in a time of 19:58.6.  Britt Fitzgerald of Mosinee finished 4th.

Medford’s Joe Sullivan finished in second in the boys’ race, and Cooper Szekeress of Mosinee finished ninth.

Colby/Abbotsford’s top finisher was Talon Severson, finishing 21st.
