Rhinelander (OnFocus) – The Medford Gymnastics Team punched their ticket to the WIAA State Meet, taking first place at sectionals with 132.85 points.
Mosinee finished second at sectionals with 115.675 points.
Top five finishers in each event earned a berth in the WIAA State Gymnastics Meet, held Saturday February 27 in La Crosse.
Medford placed three gymnasts in the All-Around top five. Makayla Ulrich finished second with 33.3 points. Kyla Krause was third with 33.225 points, and Kate Malchow was fourth with 33.175 points.
Medford also took three of the top five spots on the floor exercise. Ulrich was second with a score of 9.05, Anna Wanke was third with 8.9 points, and Krause took fourth with a 8.75 score.
Krause took first in the vault with 9.4 points.
Malchow was first on the bars with a score of 8.575.
Mosinee’s Avery Ahles finished second on the bars with a score of 8.05 points. Ulrich finished fourth on the bars, earning a 7.95 score.
Ulrich (8.55) and Malchow (8.45) took first and second on the balance beam.
