Voting for the OnFocus Athlete of the Week saw voters turn out in huge numbers to support top performances, with 1,395 votes cast.
Medfordś Paxton Rothmeier came away with 456 votes and earned the title of OnFocus Athlete of the Week, September 3 – September 9
Colbyś Gavin Voss came in a close second, collecting 456 votes.
Also topping the 200 vote total were Amherst Volleyballś Amara Beaudoin(293) and Kaden Anderson(207)
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, September 3 – September 9
- Amara Beaudoin, Amherst Volleyball (nominated online) – Beadoin has been a force this season for the Falcons, playing all six rotations. In a recent Invite, she had 44 kills, 19 blocks, 11 aces, and 27 digs as a middle hitter.
- Kaden Anderson, Auburndale Football – Anderson rushed for two touchdowns and threw for two more in the Eagles’ 28-16 win over Oconto Falls. Anderson had rushing touchdowns of 1 and 4 yards and threw 70 and 51 yard touchdown passes to Nathan Richardson.
- Paxton Rothmeier, Medford Football – Rothmeier had a career night Friday in Medfordś 50-14 win over Lakeland. He rushed for 253 yards on 12 carries and picked up four touchdowns in the win.
- Ava Etheridge, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Girls Swimming and Diving (nominated online) – Etheridge was the lone first place winner for the Red Raiders in their dual meets with La Crosse and Black River Falls. The senior finished first in the 100 freestyle by over two and a half seconds.
- Gavin Voss, Colby Football – Colby moved to 4-0 with a 54-14 thumping of Loyal, and Voss produced big numbers. Voss collected 243 yards rushing on just 12 carries, and had four rushing touchdowns of 6, 1, 68 and 7 yards, and also had one reception for 38 yards.
