Merrill Soccer Falls to Lakeland

August 29th, the Merrill High School Boys Soccer team traveled to Lakeland Union High School for their first game of the season.
With some great saves by goalie Matthew Holloway and the teamwork by Merrill, they fell short, ending the game, losing 8-0.
Coach Casey Burmeister comments:
Our boys did better than the score would suggest. They kept their enthusiasm up and showed valuable potential. Lakeland has a good team including many honorable mentions and a 1st team pick from last year. Lakeland also did very well in their communication on the field and that is a key area we aim to improve. This game was a learning game for us and I know we’ll move on stronger.
