Mayer(DCE) Breaks WVC Meet Records in 200 free, 500 free; Casey(SPASH) Breaks 100 Backstroke mark

David Mayer of D.C. Everest broke a pair of WVC Boys Swim Meet Records and Cade Casey of SPASH broke another Friday evening.

Mayer set the marks in the 200 freestyle(1:43:16) and 500 freestyle(4:46:03).

Casey set the meet record in the 100 backstroke with a time of :54.33

Meet winners:

  • 200 medley relay: SPASH
  • 200 freestyle: Mayer, DCE
  • 200 IM: Will Gargulak, SPASH
  • 50 freestyle: Camden Barwick, DCE
  • 100 butterfly: Gargulak, SPASH
  • 100 freestyle: Barwick, DCE
  • 500 freestyle: Mayer, DCE
  • 200 freestyle relay: DCE
  • 100 backstroke: Cade Casey, SPASH
  • 100 breaststroke: Kyle Franz, SPASH
  • 400 freestyle relay: SPASH

SPASH took the WVC Meet title with 412 points.

Marshfield was second with 320 points.

DCE was 3rd(203), Rapids was 4th(183) and Wausau East took 5th(130)

New WVC Record in the 200 yard free -David Mayer from DC Everest, with a time of 1:43.16.  Old record was set by Andrew Nielsen on 2/5/11, time of 1:45.32
New WVC Record in the 500 yard free -David Mayer from DC Everest, with a time of 4:46.03.  Old record was set by Danny Brebrick on 2/6/10, with a time of 4:49.67
New WVC Record in 100 Backstroke -Cade Casey from SPASH, with a time of 54.09.  Old record was set by Brennan Neitzel on 2/1/18, with a time of 54.33
