Iconic Disney animated characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse are celebrating a shared birthday Nov. 18. The fictional pair’s star power has continued across the generations since their debut in the short film “Steamboat Willy” in 1928.
Mickey, originally named “Mortimer Mouse,” was voiced by Walt Disney himself until 1946, and again in the 1950s. He also voiced Minnie until 1929.
Mickey received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1978 and Minnie in 2018.
