Mika wins annual Cyclones Corgi Races to complete three-peat

(Wausau, WI) – The Wausau Cyclones held their 3rd annual Corgi Races on Saturday night at Marathon Park in front of a sold-out crowd during the 1st and 2nd intermissions. The races featured a total of 25 corgis from throughout the state. Mika took the championship for the third consecutive year, while beating out Bailey and Jameson. The event raised a total of $935 for the Marathon County Humane Society through chuck-a-puck, 50/50 raffle and proceeds from specialty Cyclones Corgi Race merchandise. The Humane Society of Marathon County (HSMC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been established in the Wausau area since the 1950’s. The vision of HSMC is a cruelty free community enriched by the special bond between people and animals. The mission is to inspire and engage the community to end animal suffering and commit to responsible pet ownership. They achieve that mission by visiting schools to educate children on responsible pet ownership, hosting a low cost spay neuter program monthly, offering discounted microchipping services and more.

Next weekend the Cyclones will take on the Wisconsin Woodsmen again at Marathon Park, but for just a lone game on Saturday night. The first 250 fans will receive a Cyclones Retro T-Shirt presented by Stor-in-dor. Puck drops at 7:10pm on NAHLTV.
