Marshfield (OnFocus) – At the Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, high school sports this fall are already seeing some changes. The board, which oversees high school athletics in Minnesota, approved a major change impacting football and volleyball, moving the two sports to a modified spring season.
WIAA Fall Sports to Proceed with Some Delays
“Football and Girls Volleyball will be delayed until a spring season. This will require further work in scheduling seasons through the winter and spring to provide opportunities for participation in multiple activities with minimal overlap of seasons.” – Minnesota State High School League website

All other high school sports in Minnesota have practice and competition guidelines set forth, with safety procedures outlined in the meeting notes.
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association has pushed back practice and competition dates for fall sports, but action on moving any fall sports’ seasons has not occurred.
