Baraboo (OnFocus) – On July 6th, 2020 at approximately 1740 hours, Baraboo Police Officers were dispatched to the apartments on the 1100 block of 12th Street for a missing juvenile.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the mother of the missing juvenile. She identified the missing child as Kodie B. Dutcher, her 10 year-old daughter. An Amber Alert was sent out on Monday night.
Information obtained from the initial search of the residence suggested Kodie threatened self-harm. Officers immediately searched the area around the residence. Additional assistance from Baraboo Fire Department and Wisconsin Dells K-9 expanded the search area on foot.
Drone teams from Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and Middleton Fire Department responded to further expand the search areas. They organized a secondary search of the area near the residence with volunteers on foot.
Police reported that her body was found at 11:00 a.m. in the area of 11th Street and County Highway T, near her home.
The girl’s family was notified shortly before the news was publicly announced.
An official cause of death has not been released.
