A new exposé proves that MLB deployed two different kinds of baseballs in 2021 without informing players of the changes that impacted their careers
In an article by Gabrielle Starr of FanSided, Major League Baseball used two different baseballs in the 2021 season. She cites a report that exposes baseball for producing two baseballs, each designed to function differently.
The report showed the MLB went back and forth in 2021, making different kinds of baseballs based on offensive production and pitching results.
After the 2021 season began with decreased offensive numbers and several no-hitters, MLB went to juiced balls that made the game extremely hitter-friendly.
Starr reports that MLB has admitted to making the different kinds of baseballs.
