Voting for the OnFocus Athlete of the Week saw football fans come out to support top performances in the WIAA State Championship Games.
Taking the title as OnFocus Athletes of the Week, November 13 – November 19 is the duo of Tucker Markham and Alex Hernandez of Monroe Football, with 616 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, November 13 – November 19
- Calvin Hargrove, Aquinas Football – Hargrove had a monster game for the Blugolds as Aquinas claimed the Division 5 State Championship, defeating Mayville 22-14. Hargrove had 13 solo tackles and assisted on 7 others , and also rushed for 97 yards on 20 carries, picking up one touchdown.
- Corbin Hynes, Columbus Football – Hynes kicked the go-ahead field goal with 4:49 left that proved to be the game-winner, as Columbus defeated Catholic Memorial 23-21 in the Division 4 State Championship Game.
- Zander Rockow, Regis Football – Rockow s cored on a 65 yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, rushing for251 yards and three scores as Regis dumped Shiocton 41-7 to claim the Division 7 state Championship.
- Nick Retterath, UW-Stevens Point Football – Retterath, a standout in high school for the Medford Raiders, was named to the All-WIAC First Team.
- Tucker Markham/Alex Hernandez, Monroe Football – Markham and Hernandez rushed for 170 and and 122 yards, respectively, as the Cheesemakers claimed the Division 3 State Championship with a 35-14 win over West Salem. The pair had 46 combined rushing attempts, with Markham collecting three touchdowns. For the game, Monroe rushed for 358 yards on 60 carries.
