Mosinee vs. Eau Claire Memorial: Lost 81-93

The Mosinee Boys Basketball team traveled to Eau Claire Memorial to take on the Old Abes. Mosinee would get on the board first with a classic pick and roll leg by Keagen Jirschele and Davin Stoffel for a quick 2-0 lead. Stoffel would make a tough spin move to put Mosinee up 4-2. Memorial would go on a 11-0 run until Davin Stoffel’s baseline drive for two more. Mosinee down 6-13. Keagen Jirschele was able to attack and kick to Landen Thomer for a quick layup to get the lead to 8-13. Landen Thomer would get another two with a dime from Davin Stoffel to bring the score to 10-15. Jirschele was able to get to the rim for a layup. Mosinee is within 5 points 12-17. Blake Nichols came off the bench for a spark and he would get an and one to put the deficit to 15-19. Stoffel would use a good fake to get Mosinee two more. 17-23 Eau Claire. Stoffel was able to create another shot for himself with a tough spin move for two to make the score 19-27. Blake Nichols knocks down two free throws. 21-29 Old Abes. Jirschele was able to hit a deep three from the top of the key. Mosinee 24-29. Jirschele would weave and find a way to the rim for two. The score is 26-31 Eau Claire. Landen Thomer was able to get off a corner three to get the score to 29-34. Davin Stoffel was able to get a layup to get the score to 31-41. Keagen Jirschele was able to knock down his second three of the game. Mosinee and Eau Claire would finish the half at 34-47.

Out of half, Eau Claire would jump out and make some quick shots. Landen Thomer was fouled and hit 1-2 from the line. Keagen Jirschele was able to hit his third three of the night to get the score to 38-55. Jirschele followed that three with a floater for two. Mosinee down 40-57. Nichols drives down the lane for a tough finish at the front of the rim. Mosinee down 42-62. Davin Stoffel was able to get a putback layup to put the game at 44-62. Jirschele was able to convert the and one to put the score at 47-64. Garrett Shupe was able to hit a corner three to get Mosinee within 12 of the lead at 52-64. Davin Stoffel worked hard for two more to put the score at 56-70. Blake Nichols was able to score the next five points with a fade away and he finished an and one to get the score to 61-72. Garrett Shupe hit a three from the wing to get Mosinee within 8 points of the lead, 64-72. Stoffel got it to 8 points again with a clutch two for a 66-74 Eau Claire lead. Blake Nichols was fouled on a three attempt. He would knock down all three free throws to put the score back at 71-85. Jirschele would score the next four points to make the score 75-85. Nichols was able to spin and finish at the rim for two. Mosinee 77 to Eau Claire 87. Jirschele and Stoffel each score a bucket to complete the scoring for Mosinee. Mosinee would lose the game 81-93.

Mosinee was led in scoring tonight by Keagen Jirschele with 26 points while hitting three 3’s, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Davin Stoffel finished the night with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 rebounds, and 1 block. Blake Nichols had 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Landen Thomer scored 8 points while hitting one 3, 6 boards, and 1 assist. Garrett Shupe added 6 points with two 3’s, 3 boards, and 1 assist. Mosinee will play on Friday against Medford.
