Mosinee vs. Edgar Won: 72-52
Mosinee played another non-conference game against a Marawood powerhouse in Edgar. Mosinee would come out on top with a 72-52 victory with a packed house. This game was very physical for both teams and early in the game, the buckets would be hard to come by. Edgar and Mosinee would trade buckets early until Mosinee found their rhythm. Mosinee would go into the half with a 50-31 lead. Mosinee was led by Aidan Shaughnessy with 15 points, Treve Stoffel with 11, Landen Thomer with 10 points, Keagen Jirschele with 7 points, David Haskin with 4 points, and Sebastian Andersen with 2 points.
Out of half, Mosinee would come out a little slow and then get a good run to push the lead to 25 at one point. Edgar would go on a second-half run of their own and get within 10 points with seven minutes left in the game. Mosinee would eventually put the game away and win by 20 points. The team was led tonight by Landen Thomer’s double-double of 16 points, 24 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Keagen Jirschele with 16 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and three steals while hitting two 3’s. Aidan Shaughnessy had a hot first half and finished with 15 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 1 rebound while hitting three 3’s. Treve Stoffel contributed 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist while hitting one 3. David Haskin added 5 points and 1 rebound. Sebastian Andersen added 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Gavin Chmiel added 1 point and 2 rebounds. Andrew Carlson added 2 rebounds and 1 assist tonight as well.
Mosinee increased their overall record to 13-1 and 5-0 in conference. Mosinee’s JV won on a last-second three-point shot 62-61, Mosinee’s JV2 team won 60-35, and Mosinee’s JV3 team won 68-38 against Lakeland tonight.
Mosinee will play another home game against second-place GNC Lakeland on Monday at 7:15. Hope to see you all there for alumni night.
