Mosinee vs. Fox Valley Lutheran  Lost 61-76

2024 WIAA Boys Basketball Regional FINAL Scoreboard

Mosinee took on the #2 seeded Fox Valley Lutheran in the regional final game.  Mosinee was defeated by a very talented FVL team 61-76.  Mosinee and FVL would play a tough first half and go into the locker room with the score tied 30-30.

Mosinee would come out in the second half a little slow and FVL would jump out to a quick 10-point lead.  After a timeout, Mosinee would continue to have to battle to stay within the game.  We got within 5 points again, but could never regain that momentum.  Mosinee would end up losing the game by 15 points to a very talented FVL team who will play in the sectional game against West Salem on Thursday.

Mosinee was led tonight by 1st Team All Conference do it all guard, Keagen Jirschele, with 22 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.  Senior Cole Kowalski, who earned Honorable Mention All Conference would contribute a tough 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Senior 1st Team All-Conference forward, Landen Thomer, would finish his tremendous senior season with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block.  Senior 2nd Team All Conference guard, Aidan Shaughnessy, provided a consistent 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.  Senior Honorable Mention Forward, Garrett Shupe, battled tonight by contributing 4 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.  Sophomore 2nd Team All Conference Guard/Forward, Treve Stoffel, rounded out the scoring with 4 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds.

We want to thank the seven seniors who have created a legacy for the program for years to come.  This group has two Conference Championships and one Regional Championship under their belt.  This has never been done since Mosinee has been in the Great Northern Conference.  Congratulations to Andrew Carlson, David Haskin, Keagen Jirschele, Cole Kowalski, Aidan Shaughnessy, Garrett Shupe, and Landen Thomer for their great high school basketball careers.  We would also like to thank our great team managers for their support and assistance daily.  Thank you, Leo Ramsey and Ray Persike.
