Mosinee vs. Rhinelander Lost 63-64
Mosinee took it to the court tonight for Senior night against conference rival Rhinelander. Mosinee would not have their best night offensively tonight as it resulted in a 63-64 loss. Rhinelander came out and jumped into an early lead with some quick shots and deep threes. Rhinelander was in the lead for most of the first half until Mosinee tied it up going into the first half at 32-32. Mosinee was led in the first half by Landen Thomer with 16 points, Treve Stoffel with 8 points, Aidan Shaughnessy with 4 points, Keagen Jirschele with 2 points, and David Haskin with 2 points.
Out of the half Mosinee would get a better rhythm on offense and stop Rhinelander on some possessions to take a small 6 point lead. Rhinelander would continue to battle and get some opportunities to shoot free throws. They would capitalize by making 9 out of 10 free throws in the second half and all of them within the last three minutes. Mosinee had their chances to keep the lead and the ball just did not fall for them tonight. Rhinelander would go up by one with 22 seconds left in the game. Mosinee would call a timeout and draw up a play to try and win the game. Mosinee was unable to capitalize with winning the game in the final seconds. This now puts Mosinee in a three way tie with Rhinelander and Medford for conference champs.

Mosinee was led in scoring by Landen Thomer with 27 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and 1 steal while hitting 11 for 12 at the free throw line. Keagen Jirschele had 15 hard fought points, 5 rebounds, 3 assist, and 1 block. Treve Stoffel added 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist. Aidan Shaughnessy added 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. Cole Kowalski added 4 points while hitting 2 for 2 at the free throw line. David Haskin added 2 points and 1 rebound. Mosinee’s overall record is 18-4 and 9-2 in conference. Mosinee will take on #6 in Division 3 Brillion on Monday in Mosinee. Looking forward to all of the fans to come out and watch a great basketball game.
