Mosinee Boys Take Win over Lakeland on Senior Night

Mosinee Boys Basketball hosted the Lakeland T-Birds from Minocqua on Thursday, Feb. 24 on Senior Night. Mosinee honored and thanked their seniors prior to the game. Neither team got off to a great start offensively. Lakeland would get on the board first with a free throw by Gary Timm almost 3 minutes into the game. Mosinee would make three three-pointers in the first half, one by each Trenton Dorn, Kyle Miller, and Davin Stoffel while Will Fortier of Lakeland would make 3 threes of his own, and the lefty, Ashton Anderson would make one in the first half for everyone to be knotted up at the half at 30 apiece at intermission. Mosinee would force 3 turnovers in the first half while committing 6 of their own.

In the second half, Mosinee would make another 3 threes with Drake Grod connecting from deep and both Kyle Miller and Davin Stoffel sharp shooting from beyond the arc while Carter Quade would make one ad Will Fortier would make another pair of threes in the second half for Lakeland. Davin Stoffel would get up and play above the rim for a dunk in the second half. Mosinee would force 10 more turnovers in the second half while committing only 8 of their own.
With the win tonight over Lakeland, 61-56, Mosinee finishes the regular season at 22-2 and 11-1 in Great Northern Conference action. Mosinee will be back in action on Friday, March 4 for the regional semifinals vs. the winner of the Regional Quarterfinal between Merrill and Ashland.
