Mosinee made the long road trip down to play the Onalaska Hilltoppers on Tuesday evening. The Indians would jump out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st with a Keagen Jirschele lead off single and then proceeded to steal 2nd and 3rd. Trenton Dorn would drive in a run with a liner up the middle. Trevor Garski started on the mound for Mosinee and tossed 3 innings stiking out 4 and walked 0.
The Indians stacked 2 more runs in the Third, the first run came on a pass ball and the 2nd on a Sac fly by Garrett Shupe. Onalaska scored an unearned run in the 3rd and two runs in the 4th to make it a 4-3 game. Then in the top of the sixth Jirschele hit his first High school career Home Run on a bullet out to left to lead the inning off making it 5-3. Shawn Bryant would pitch 2-2/3 innings striking out 4 and walking two. Then Eli Miland would come in and pitch the final 1-1/3 scoreless innings.
The Hilltoppers would make it interesting in the bottom of the seventh getting runners on 1st and 3rd with one out but Miland would get the hitter to bounce into a 6-4-3 double play to end it. Mosinee tallied 9 hits led by Jirschele and Dorn with 2 hits and piece. Although the Indians commited 4 uncharacteristic errors as Mosinee’s pitchers allowed zero earned runs for the 5th game in a row. Mosinee improved to 4-1 on the season and will Host a conference double header on Thursday against Lakeland.
