Mosinee and Northland Pines squared off as the two unbeaten teams in the Great Northern Conference played in Eagle River. After trailing at the half by 6, Mosinee fought back for a 59-56 GNC victory.
Pines would jump out to a quick start on Mosinee would be up 10, 17-7 five minutes into the game. Mosinee would only get 2 stops in Northland Pines’ first 10 possessions. Mosinee would battle back by running the floor better in transition and Mosinee’s Evan Utphall would create 3 quick turnovers to spur a comeback by Mosinee. Mosinee would make four three-pointers, with Trenton Dorn making two, and Drake Grod and Kyle Miller each with one.
The Eagle’s high-powered three-point shooting team would only convert one three in the first half by Ryan Muench. The Indians would force 6 turnovers and another 10 stops on 31 Eagle possessions in the first half and trail 27-33.
